What is qigong

Qigong is a system of traditional Chinese practices, over 7000 years old, which aims to develop human potential in all its aspects:

  • obtaining an optimal state of health,
  • strengthening the body,
  • increasing vitality,
  • achieving longevity,
  • the development of the latent capacities of the human being,
  • the acquisition of wisdom.

It is considered to be a true art of cultivating and prolonging life, including a wide variety of techniques and exercises that harmoniously combine movement with specific ways of breathing and mental concentration. Also, qigong includes many forms of meditation and relaxation exercises.

Some of the immediate effects of qigong practice are:

  • achieving lasting well-being,
  • reducing stress levels,
  • increasing vitality and general physical condition,
  • strengthening immunity,
  • regulating the functioning of all body systems and internal organs,
  • balancing metabolism,
    sleep optimization,
  • achieving a state of calm, peace and inner harmony.

Persistent practice can lead to optimal self-control of mental states, the elimination of negative emotions, the acquisition of a state of relaxation and mental tone, at the same time facilitating the emergence and development of potential capacities of the body, mind and spirit.

In the past, qigong techniques were considered secret and taught only to the elite of Chinese society.

Currently, although there is an abundance of information on qigong, direct contact with a genuine master or licensed instructor is – as in the past – absolutely necessary to obtain the expected results.
